When searching for a wedding photographer in Virginia Beach, it was important to Alexandra and Michael that the images captured their unique celebration. They originally hoped to marry in Key West. However, when Grandma couldn’t travel that far, they brought the island spirit closer to home. Michael and Alexandra chose Esoteric in Virginia Beach, VA. They poured their hearts into creating a celebration filled with tropical touches—complete with a giant bouquet and a vibrant Key West–inspired color palette. Also, they even had their favorite Key West dessert, ice cream sushi, flown in for the reception.

Both Alexandra and Michael serve in the U.S. military. They incorporated several patriotic details throughout the day. The wedding photographer Virginia Beach captured these perfectly at the Esoteric.
After nearly a decade together, their two Great Danes have become an important part of their story. The couple included them in a special first look and portrait session. Guests found little nods to the dogs scattered around Esoteric. The wedding photographer Virginia Beach used was part of these memorable moments.

Alexandra’s grandmother traveled from Holland. She baked a traditional Dutch pull-apart cake for the Esoteric wedding, complete with a bride and groom topper in classic Dutch style.

To honor Michael’s late mother, the couple used her vintage film camera to capture some of their portraits. Alexandra also drove across the country to restore his mother’s Ford Mustang convertible. Michael saw the finished car for the first time during a deeply emotional first look, marking their special Essoteric celebration. This moment was beautifully preserved by their chosen wedding photographer Virginia Beach residents admire.
